Budapest – Exploring Pest

This morning we set out to see Budapest most significant landmarks on the Pest side of the Danube. We visited St. Stephan’s Basilica, where the relic St Stephan’s right hand is kept,

passed the Hungarian State Opera House, and stopped at Hero’s Square, where there are carved statues of Hungary’s past leaders, a tomb dedicated to the victims of the 1956 revolt, and various statues depicting the Magyar tribes that were the early settlers of the area.

We passed by the Jewish Synagogue, the largest in Europe. We saw the Ferris wheel, which is on display in Pest about 6 months a year.

We then visited the town market where I had the Hungaria Street Grub and beer.

A stroll near the Danube and departure.
